Juun. J Fall/Winter 2016

WWe keep being surprised by Junn J. For his lastest collection, the Korean designer strikes hardest. We thought we had seen all there is to see of his eccentric and oversized world but once again, he thinks outside the box. Directly coming from a cyberpunk world, the looks are a formidable mix of blade runner and Hokuto No Ken. Leather is everywhere and the dark colors evoke a post-apocalyptic era. The back of the fur coats has drawings of Hajime Sorayama, in particular his ultra-sexy humanoid pin-up. Once more, Junn. J makes a difference on the international fashion scene with a true creative approach. Even scarcely wearable, his collection is extremely original. Cyril Pham

Shao Yen Spring/Summer 2016 Lookbook

Shao Yen is an experimental womenswear brand that mixes all together unconventional materials and shapes. The label was created in 2010 by Taiwanese-born Shao Yen Chen who gratuated from Central-Saint-Martin and previously worked in prestigious design houses such as Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. His Spring/Summer 2016 collection results from an intensive study of the sinews and muscles of human bodies. Shao Yen here focuses on joints where bones meets bones and examines how movements, speed and agility can be expressed through materials, fabrics and prints. The designer also took inspiration from German-French artist Jean Arp; garments are draped and gathered together in a random manner in order to create a breezy, fresh and unfinished look. In this collection, Chen explores garment construction to enhance the grace of women’s movements and bodies. Mimosa Gravier
