Young Chinese furniture designer Shuang Liang has presented Tuann, his first furniture collection, at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2015. Based in Beijing, the designer originally studied at the School of Architecture at CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts) before moving to Scandinavia to study at the Oslo School of Architecture (AHO). He then moved back to China to develop his furniture range.
Tuann combines classic aesthetics of traditional Chinese furniture with a slimmed down and minimalist approach. The collection is made of stools, tables and bookcases. “In the design process, the curvilinear and rectangular lines are He and She, and the two genders engage in an ongoing conversation in terms of form and use.”
