When he launched his brand in 2007, Jason Wu wanted to create clothes for powerful and feminine women. Since, his collections have always shown some glamourous, high-quality, crafted and detailed designs. The new Autumn/Winter 2015 collection is a tribute to Catherine Deneuve’s French glamour. The cuts seem to be perfect, almost geometrical, as particularly seen on looks #1 and #28. Fur is both used as an accessory and as a clothes. Its luxurious and comfortable aspect becomes either an addition to one’s outfit or becomes part of it, like the sleeveless cardigan. Powerful, the Jason Wu’s women could almost be commanding, wearing a total khaki look. He managed to make it look elegant, playing with the different materials: a muslin shirt worn with some woolen trousers. Jason Wu celebrates a business woman that is everything but classic. Her pencil skirt is made of a crocodile fabric, she knows how to stay sexy using transparency and she is sparkling when she wears a silvered sequined dress. An Autumn/Winter collection so brilliant that criticizing it could appear unnatural.
